The Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum will honor the service and sacrifice of all Iowa veterans from the Civil War to present. It will include those who served in uniform in both war and peace and those who served on the home front in WWII. The Center is named for the five Sullivan brothers of Waterloo who died together when their ship, the USS Juneau, went down in South Pacific in November 1942. When the addition to the Grout Museum is completed in 2004, it will house permanent and rotating exhibits, oral histories, documentary materials and artifacts relating to the service of veterans who have served the nation. A veterans registration program is also being conducted.
