The Carl A. and Peggy J. Bluedorn Science Imaginarium opened in 1993 in response to the increased interest in the Grouts science programs. Described as a "playground for the imagination", this interactive science center provides fun hands-on exhibits that demonstrate how science affects everyday life. The Imaginarium is built on the belief that science can be fun and exciting. We provide opportunities for families, schoolchildren and teachers to learn and experiment with physics, light, sound, momentum and other scientific concepts. The exhibits will excite your senses. Take a wild ride on a life-sized Gyroscope. Discover angular momentum by moving your arms while spinning on a turntable platform. Spark your interest in science with Bottled Lightning. Grab the controls of the Laser Spirograph and create a laser show. Watch air bubbles glide through different liquids at different speeds in the Bubble Race. Shoot a ring of air across the room with the Air Cannon. The Imaginarium is also home to some interesting live biological specimens. Science demonstrations get the audience involved with the action. The Imaginarium is a great location for a kids birthday party.
