The Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum is taking part in the National POW/MIA Recognition Day. This year, special attention will be placed on Korean War Era serviceman and women who were listed as missing. As the frontlines rapidly changed in 1950 and 1951, many fallen heroes were unable to be recovered due to the hostility of the enemy. They were listed as “missing in action.” Today, 7,751 American personnel remain missing from the Korean War, 140 of those are Iowans. The program aims to remember and celebrate the service, and sacrifice, of Iowans lost.

This program is free to the public.
