Author James Kenyon will be giving a presentation and book signing of his latest book The Immigrant Next Door: Collected Stories of the American Experience on April 9th at 4:00 PM.
His book is a collection of thirty-one interviews and accounts from immigrants from all over the world including Waterloo & Cedar Falls, sharing their exhilarating, excruciating, joyous, and invariably inspiring journeys. From survivors of World War II to young professionals who have achieved success in opportunities offered by the American Dream, the historical and cultural contributions of this book are a celebration of the perseverance and industry of the American spirit.
Author James Kenyon is a thirteenth-generation American immigrant. His family left Exeter, England, to come to Rhode Island in the 1600s. His grandparents migrated and homesteaded on the prairie of western Kansas. James is a veterinarian, historian, and public speaker. He is a two-time winner of the Martin Kansas History Book award.
