Come and join the Vintage Sisters for a day of quilting and related activities.
Bring unfinished projects and sit and stitch among friends old and new. Get tips, learn techniques, share your ideas with everyone present
The day includes:
- Admission to the museum to see “What’s in a Name: The Soul of a Quilt”
- A scavenger hunt
- Swap Meet table where attendees can bring quilt related items to sell or swap.
- A gallery talk called: “Symbols in Quilting” with quilt historian Karan Flanscha - 1:00 – 2:00
- Pot Luck Lunch
- Show and tell
- Door Prizes
Lunch is Pot Luck! Vintage Sisters will make a large pot of soup and each participant is asked to bring a salad to share. The soup will be dairy and gluten free.
Basic needs for the Finish-it Workshop
- Pot Luck Salad to share
- Your unfinished project(s).
- Any equipment you need including a sewing machine.
- Basic Sewing Kit
- The lighting in the conference room is good; however, you may want to bring an auxiliary light.
- To avoid confusion, have your equipment marked with your name.
- Show and tell - we love to see what you are doing and have accomplished!
The Grout Museum will provide
- Table space approximately 3 feet by 2 feet.
- Extension cords at each table.
- Large cutting mats, rotary cutters and rulers (You may want to bring a small mat, ruler and rotary cutter to place beside your machine).
- Irons and ironing boards
- Coffee, tea, water and ice are available. There is a soda machine or you may bring your own drink if you prefer. A refrigerator is available to store drinks
- Some snacks will be provided, feel free to bring a snack to share.
