Pat Kinney Interviews Craig White

Posted on Tuesday, May 15, 2018

The Grout Museum District’s Pat Kinney interviewed Cedar Valley Honor Flight co-organizer Craig White, a Vietnam veteran, about the upcoming Honor Flight May 22 from the Waterloo Regional Airport. About 100 veterans of the Korean, Vietnam and Cold Wars are making the one-day flight to see Washington, D.C. military memorials. The interview was conducted at a May 10 orientation dinner for flight participants and their guardians on the flight at the Washburn Moose Lodge.

At White’s invitation, Kinney, a content development specialist for the Grout and former longtime staff writer with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, will be reporting on the May 22 flight for the Grout Museum District. That blog coverage will appear on this website and the Grout’s social media platforms.

Additional Waterloo Honor Flights are planned Sept. 25 and Oct. 23. Military veterans from Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Grundy and the northern half of Tama counties who served from World War II through Korea and the Vietnam was or the Cold War in between are eligible.

Applications may be picked up at any of the Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Waverly Hy-Vee Stores or by going to the organization's website, www.cedarvalleyhonorflights.org, or the Cedar Valley Honor Flight's Facebook page. Donations are being accepted to continue the flights. Questions may be directed to White at whitedog67@q.com or co-organizer Frank Magsamen at fmagsbhc@hotmail.com.
