Well done. Great exhibits. I especially enjoyed the interactive dog tags.

Big! Wonderful! Very Interesting! So many items to view and read about. What a marvelous tribute to those from Iowa!
— Brenda Lehn Bauer - Oklahoma
The museum was one of the best we have seen nationwide. Additionally impressed with how well the museum facility is laid out for seniors with level floors, adequate restrooms and large font print.
— Karry Udrig - Minnesota
I could not have picked a better place (Snowden House), the people were great to work with, the place was beautiful, and everything was so simple! Thank you Grout Museum District!

Rocket Camp is a wonderful opportunity for the children in our community and their families. I felt that it enriched my family especially on lift off day. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group of kids working together, having so much fun and helping each other. The teachers were great and as a grandparent I felt comfortable contacting Jordan if I had any questions. On lift off day, it was amazing to see parents and grandparents as excited as the kids to watch as every rocket launched. And together, we would shout as a group, 3, 2, 1, lift off; as the student pressed the button. I think it was one of the coolest things I've ever participated in and I was just a spectator! Thank you Grout Museum!

It was such a wonderful experience for our family to watch my Grandpa's veteran interview. I knew some of my Grandpa's experiences in the Korean War, but this candid conversation painted such a vibrant picture. Some things were hard to hear and, even with the star of the show in the room with us, we were left breathless at how easily he could have been killed or maimed. And he tells his story with such humor, a characteristic that still remains sharp as ever despite his slowly declining health. It was a marvel to think how lucky he was to have survived; and without that luck I would not be here. Thank you for selecting him to tell his story through your Oral History Project. It was a true joy for our family to hear it.

Thank you for all of the hard work that was put in to making our 60th Anniversary Tall Corn Chapter Korean War event a successful one. It is always a pleasure working with you folks at the Grout Museum District!
— Sid Morris
Great wedding venue! The staff was so great to work with and very helpful. Made the day as stress-free as possible. I would recommend this as a wedding venue to anyone!
— Mindy Kay Olson
Thank you for letting us come! I loved the planetarium at the Grout and the animals at the Imaginarium. I'm not sure if I should become an astronomer or herpetologist now!
— Ian D. - Snake Whisper
Stirring memorial. The story of the Sullivan Brothers is very inspirational. It is hard to attend the museum without tearing up over the story of these 5 brave men all losing their lives while defending our freedom. Definitely a "must see" for any vets and their families.
— Dennis B. - TripAdvisor
Everyone immensely enjoyed their time and lunch at the Veterans Museum. As always, there is never enough time to spend looking at everything in the museum! Learning more about the Five Sullivan Brothers and the world map showing the progression of events during WWII were especially rewarding.
— USS Robinson DD562, Inc.
Very moving experience. The museum is great. This rates up with the Smithsonians in DC. Very informative and a great interactive tribute to the Iowan veterans.

Thank you for teaching us a lot about the history of our community. I loved going to Museum School. We learned about the railroads and Rath Packing. I liked when we did the one room school house. I also learned that pioneers were never wasteful.
— Kenzie R. - 3rd Grade Museum School
Thank you for telling us what it was like for the Native Americans and Pioneers.
— Riley P. - 3rd Grade Museum School
This museum is a hidden treat in Waterloo. There are very moving and informative exhibits, well displayed and well explained. The Grout Museum attached is also well worth your time. If you're an Iowan especially, this museum hits close to the heart. Very moving examples of real experiences and sacrifices during various wars and you get a real flavor of how it was then.

This museum has its act together! From entrance to exit we were never once left wanting something to see! The exhibits were ALL wonderfully thought out, precise, and beautifully arranged, extremely artistic and tasteful. The only thing I regret is that I didn't set aside a whole day to see everything. This museum did veterans history right! Great way to celebrate our military.

“Our family visited the Grout Museum a couple of weeks ago for the first time. I would like to commend the staff there on such a well done exhibit. I was most impressed with the Vietnam exhibit. Perhaps it touched me because my brother served over there during the conflict. The Veterans Museum meant so much to our family as my brother and father both served their country proudly. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to telling the stories of Iowa’s service men and women.”
— Linda Barrett - Mt. Vernon, IA
When looking for something to break up a trip from eastern to central Iowa, I came across info about this museum. We decided to stop, and what a treat! It's connected with the Grout Museum (local history), but we didn't have time to visit that part. With two hours, we just didn't have time! The exhibits in the Veterans Museum are really well done, with tons of hands-on things that our kids loved. And there was plenty for adults to absorb as well. It covers Civil War to current conflicts, and includes artifacts as well as interviews with veterans and so much more. I would highly recommend this museum, especially for Iowans interested in the state's military history.

This is an great museum! We went with the assumption it was primarily about the Sullivan Brothers. It is, with much more....Overall, a strong "A" grade.
— Fort Dodge, IA - TripAdvisor
I really loved the museum. My favorite part was seeing the box cars and hearing stories about riding on them. I also liked getting to see what it would be like in a WWI trench.
— Holly C.
The kids loved the snakes and the new temporary exhibit. We are very lucky to have a great museum like the Imaginarium in our community.
— First Baptist Church
I enjoyed my entire visit! Very nice museum. The Sullivan Brothers exhibits were especially nice. Very detailed exhibits overall.

Thank you for letting us in to your incredible museum. The planetarium and seeing the stars align in different strings was amazing.
— Keely K.
Thank you for letting us have our lunch in the museum, and for teaching us about stars, rocks and minerals.
An unexpected gem. This is a must-see if you're traveling in the Cedar Valley or especially if you're a local. Excellent displays about the history of various wars our country has gone through with a unique emphasis on how they affected Iowans. Very educational and informative. Awesome and humble reminders about the sacrifices people were willing to make and not just the soldiers but those who were left behind at home also contributed greatly. This museum turned out to be bigger and better than I would've imagined and in some ways can rival that of what you would see in a big city. As with most museums you can go at your own pace and make it quick. But if you're interested in more details even a moderate pace could allow you to spend a few hours here.
I loved the focus on Iowa's participation in all of the wars. Wonderful area pride and personalization of these national events. I also learned so much about the role of agriculture and manufacturing, something not often seen in other war museums. The dog tags were great fun! Overall, well done! Wonderful!
Thank you for the incredible experience of walking through your doors and into a museum full of history and facts that I have never encountered before.
— Blake W.
Historian Bob Neymeyer made the museum come alive for us! Thank you.
— Lorraine C.
