Voices of Iowa is an original documentary series produced by the Grout Museum District and Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum. Built around firsthand testimony from Iowa veterans, witnesses, families, and communities, each film preserves personal experiences while exploring their place within larger moments in American history.

Voices of Iowa: Korean War brings the often-overlooked Korean War to life through the firsthand stories of Iowa veterans who experienced the conflict. Premiering January 29, 2027, the documentary combines powerful oral histories, archival footage, and cinematic storytelling to preserve their experiences and ensure the legacy of the Korean War is not forgotten.

Voices of Iowa: Pearl Harbor tells the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor through the firsthand accounts of the Iowa veterans who experienced World War II.

Bring Voices of Iowa to Your Community
Voices of Iowa documentaries are available for public screenings throughout Iowa. Museums, libraries, historical societies, schools, theaters, veterans organizations, community groups, and other organizations are invited to host screenings and help bring these stories to audiences across the state.
Screening hosts receive access to the documentary along with promotional materials and support from the Grout Museum District.

The stories preserved through Voices of Iowa begin with people willing to share their experiences. The Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum continues to collect oral histories from Iowa veterans and others whose lives intersect with America's military history.
